Twitter is a great way to communicate a short message to all of your friends at one time. You can update from your computer or from your cell phone. The site itself seems to be in growing pains at times, but down time is at a minimum.
Twitter is set up similar to Instant Messenger, however it does have many options that set it apart from any other site. I visit my twitter account (http://twitter.com/zwild1) several times a day. You can set up a badge that will also update your personal website, similar to the one I have on the left side of my site.
Twitter is in my opinion a 5 out of 5. Join Twitter, have your friends join and have a blast!
