Equilibrium is a Sci-Fi Thriller set in a futuristic world, after a third world war, where emotions are suppressed by drugs and teachings. The teachings are that of a man who calls himself the Father. Society is not allowed to have feelings and those who do are punished if found. Christian Bale plays a top government official who seeks out those that are charged as criminals. He hunts down and kills those proven guilty and feels no remorse in doing so, until the entrance of his new partner played by Taye Diggs. This movie definitely gives you a Hitler-ish feel to it.
The movie definitely earns it R rating with plenty of violence, but kept my interest throughout. It wasn’t a movie I would see many times, but I would recommend that you watch it.
